Willie Perry Obituary

A Place of Birth and Early Life
Willie Larkins Perry Jr., beloved son of the late Willie Larkins Perry Sr. and Helen Marie Perry, was born on September 7, 1959, in Vance County, in the Watkins Community. He departed this life on December 19, 2025, at Kerr Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation, where he found care, comfort, and solace in his final days.

Roots in Watkins Community
Willie grew up in Watkins Community, a place where he formed lifelong connections through his friendships and the simple joys of everyday life. He attended Vance County schools for his early education and, though he did not graduate from high school, his life was defined by his determination, warmth, and unyielding spirit. He did not pursue college, but he found meaningful work and purpose through his labor and service.

Work and Entrepreneurship
In the working world, Willie contributed his talents to Waste Industries and Newton Instruments, and he also owned Tree Man Tree and Landscaping Services, where his hands, humor, and hard work left lasting impressions on everyone who knew him. His professional life reflected a commitment to serving others and giving generously whenever he could.

Family, Love, and Character
Willie’s love for his family was deep and steadfast. He loved, supported, cared for, and protected those he cherished with a generosity that knew no bounds. He treasured time spent with friends, enjoyed riding horses, playing cards, and imagining the thrill of a winning lottery—dreams that spoke to his hopeful, spirited nature.

Faith and Spiritual Background
Although he did not belong to a church in later years, his upbringing at Mt. Moriah AME Zion Church and the values instilled there remained part of him: faith, community, and a sense of accountability to those he cared for. He faced life with a practical resilience that inspired those around him.

Family Legacy and Survivors
Willie was preceded in death by his father, Willie Larkins Perry Sr., his daughter Felicia Ann Cofield, and his sister Dorothy Evelyn Perry. He leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor his memory: daughter Lakenya Danielle Perry; granddaughters Ja’Nieq Perry and JaZiah Perry; brothers David Lee Perry and Willie Mack Harris; sister Mary Helen Perry; mother Helen Peace Perry; and nieces Ti’anna and Kadashia, other nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. His presence will live on in every life he touched—the friends he made, the labor he offered, and the love he shared so generously.

A Final Reflection
A heart that gave more than it asked in return, Willie’s legacy is one of care, protection, and enduring love for his family and friends. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew him.
