Vasshale Blacknall Obituary

A Gentle Passing

Vasshale Autricca Blacknall, known to family and friends as Shelly, departed this life on January 12, 2026, at Granville Medical Center in Oxford, North Carolina, surrounded by the love of those who cherished her. Shelly was born on October 8, 1986, in Durham, North Carolina, to Maurice Harrison and Sherita Williams, and from an early age, she touched many lives with her bright spirit and generous heart. She grew up in Henderson, North Carolina, where she became a beloved member of the community and a steadfast friend to many.

Education and Career

Shelly believed in the value of education and lifelong learning. She attended Vance County Schools and proudly graduated from Southern Vance High School in 2005. Her dedication to helping others led her to pursue a healthcare career, earning an Associate in Applied Science in Pharmacy Technology from Vance-Granville Community College and a Diploma in Medical Billing and Coding from Ultimate Medical Academy. Her professional journey included roles as a Pharmacy Technician at Walmart Supercenter, MAST Drug, and CVS Pharmacy, where she brought warmth, competence, and a sense of calm to every patient she served and every colleague she worked with.

Faith and Community

Shelly’s faith remained a cornerstone of her life. She grew in her spiritual walk and joined Little Baltimore Baptist Church in Warrenton, North Carolina, where she found fellowship, guidance, and a community that celebrated her generous spirit.

Passions and Motherhood

Shelly loved music, singing, and enjoying life with a joyful heart. She cherished time with her family and friends and especially delighted in the special moments she shared with her son. She was a dedicated mother who poured love into every day and took pride in all of her family’s accomplishments. In her own words and in her actions, Shelly showed the world what it means to be a “people person”—kind, caring, and always ready to lend a helping hand.

Survivors and Remembrances

Shelly leaves to cherish her memory: her son, Lennox Davis; adopted father NeDempsey Moore Jr. (Maurice Harrison) and adopted Mother Emma Moore (Sherita Williams); six sisters, Shantae Atkins, Aleitha Blacknall, Cherelle Blacknall, Asia Harrison, Paris Harrison and Chelsea Harrison; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, and many friends who loved her deeply. She had a very special friend named Jonas Williams.

Final Reflection

Shelly lived fully, loved deeply, and made a difference wherever she went. Her legacy of compassion, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
