Talmadge Ayscue Obituary

Buck’s Early Life and Birth
Buck’s story begins in Vance County, where he was born on September 13, 1949. He passed peacefully on April 5, 2026, at the Hock Family Pavilion at Duke Hospice Center in Durham, North Carolina. He lived a life anchored in family, personal beliefs, and a love for the simple joys that brightened his days—gardening, raising chickens, and caring for the creatures and people he cherished.

Buck’s Upbringing and Education
Buck grew up in Vicksboro, a place that shaped his character with its enduring values of hard work and loyalty. He attended Vance County Schools, though he did not graduate from high school, a reminder that fulfillment can come through many different paths. He later dedicated himself to public service with the City of Henderson, where he built a long, steady career and earned the respect of colleagues and the community he served.

Buck’s Family and Love
Buck’s greatest joy came from his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, whose love for his family stood as the cornerstone of his life. He treasured time spent with loved ones and took pride in watching them thrive, always placing their well-being at the center of his days.

Buck’s Passions: Garden and Animals
Beyond his family, Buck found solace and delight in nature. His garden was a place of peace and purpose, tended with care and steady patience. He also enjoyed raising chickens and caring for other animals, hobbies that brought daily joy and a sense of calm to his life. He was known for quiet strength, practical wisdom, and a generous spirit.

Ayscue (Melissa); his grandchildren: Clayton Ayscue, Jessica Ayscue, Kayla Ayscue, and Jenny Thompson; his great-grandchildren: Cooper West, Colson West, Tucker Ayscue (on the way), and Mariah Ayscue; and his brother William Ayscue.
