Ronald Hunter Sr. Obituary

Ronald Hunter Sr. a beloved father, grandfather, and devoted sports fan, was born in Vance County on July 17, 1950, he peacefully went home to be with his eternal father in heaven on August 29, 2024, at his home in Henderson, NC. He was the beloved son of Dallas Ray Hunter Sr. and Alice LeMay Hunter.

Ronald attended Mary Potter School, where he reached the 11th grade. He then embarked on a journey to New Jersey, where he spent nearly 30 years before returning to his roots in Henderson, NC. During his time in New Jersey, he developed a deep passion for sports, becoming a lifelong fan of the New York Giants and the New York Yankees. His enthusiasm was infectious, and he was known as the loudest supporter in the stands whenever youth sports were in action.

Professionally, Ronald dedicated many years to Wakefern in New Jersey and later to Roses Distribution Center in Henderson, where he retired. He found immense joy in supporting youth sports, always cheering for the next generation with unwavering enthusiasm.

Family was everything to Ronald. He cherished every moment spent with his five grandchildren: Dijon, Al-Fatir, Rahmiah, Nefertiti, and Nakira. His love for his family extended to his two sons, Ronald Jr. and Frank Camacho, and his daughter, Aisha Williams. Ronald was also a proud brother and uncle, survived by his brothers Wilbert Ray, Anthony (and Barbara), Randolph (and Carolyn), Zelton (and Mary), Jerry, Jerald (and Shirley), and Reginald (and Gail), and sisters Cathleen Downey (and Cavaster), Sylvia Evans (and James), and Velma Crews (and Alexander),

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Dallas Ray Hunter and Alice Mae LeMay, and his siblings: Dallas Hunter Jr., Ray Hunter, Shelton Hunter, Michael Hunter, Alonzo Hunter, Joyce Ramsey, and Wilmer Owens.

Most importantly, Ronald surrendered his life to the Lord before his passing, finding peace in his faith. He will be remembered for his generosity, his loud cheers, and the love he had for his family and friends.

Rest in peace, Ronald. Your spirit will live on in every cheer and every game played.
