In Loving Memory of Ronald Clark Durham

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald Clark Durham, a beloved member of our community. Ronald was born on May 12, 1939, in Norlina, North Carolina, to the late Arthur and Anniebelle Durham. On November 9, 2023, he peacefully went home to be with his eternal father.

Ronald grew up attending the Union Chapel Holy Church in Norlina, North Carolina, where he developed a strong connection to his faith. He cherished his visits back home to Warren County and indulged in his hobbies of fishing, hunting with his brother Herman Durham, and savoring the local delicacies of Ridgeway cantaloupes, Brunswick stew, and Hoop cheese.

Later in life, Ronald moved to Middle Village, New York, and dedicated many years to the Community bowling alley where he eventually retired. He cherished the friendships he made there and enjoyed the camaraderie that came with his work. Ronald was the type of person that would give you the clothes off his back.

Ronald was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Durham, his mother, Annabelle Durham, three brothers, John Henry Durham, Willie Lee Durham, and Herman Durham, as well as one sister, Margaret D. Davenport. He leave one special sister-in-law, Mary R. Durham, who held a special place in his heart.

We would like to express our gratitude to his dedicated caretakers, Rodney Davenport and Rev.  Raymond Boben, who provided him with love, support, and care throughout his final years. Their devotion to Ronald's well-being will always be remembered and appreciated.

Lastly, we acknowledge the friendship of Frank from New York, who held a special place in Ronald's heart. Their bond brought joy and companionship into Ronald's life.

Ronald Clark Durham will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His warm heart, kind spirit, and joyful presence will forever be cherished. As we gather to honor his memory, let us remember the beautiful impact he made on our lives and the positivity he brought to our community. May he rest in eternal peace.
