Paul Anthony (Sr.) Rice

Paul Anthony Rice Sr., son of the late Hattie Mary Davis Currin and Nathaniel Junious McKnight, was born on January 11, 1968, in Vance County. He peacefully entered eternal rest on June 15, 2025, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital in Coweta County, Georgia.

Growing up, Paul attended the Vance County School System. After completing his schooling, he embarked on his journey through life, marked by resilience and strength. Paul enjoyed fishing, cooking, and riding horses—passions he loved sharing with family and friends. He cherished spending time with his daughter and grandchildren, often sitting on the porch, listening to music—especially his favorite song, “Send Me, I’ll Go” by The Canton Spirituals.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Hattie Marie Currin Davis; his brother, Michael Rice; and grandson, Willie Mack Harris Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Shekeyria Harris (Mack) of Georgia; his sons, Bryan Roberson of Henderson, North Carolina, and Paul Anthony Rice Jr. of Mississippi; his brother, Kim Rice of Henderson, North Carolina; his sisters, Monique McKnight and Bettie Jones (Kevin), both of Henderson, North Carolina; six grandchildren—Da’Shawn, Mariyah, Willie III, King, Shakayla, and King R.; two aunts, Dorsina Hargrove (Ronald) and Marinda Davis, both of Henderson, North Carolina; four uncles—Stanley Rice (Ktanya), Adrian Davis, Antonio Davis, and Lamont Davis, all of Henderson, North Carolina; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Paul’s legacy is one of perseverance, love, and resilience. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, and his spirit will continue to inspire.
