Larry McDonald Manning, son of Duroff McDonald Manning and Helen Louise Glover Manning, was born in Vance County on June 30, 1959. He peacefully passed away on January 5, 2025, at the Louisburg Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Louisburg, North Carolina.
Larry grew up in Vance County and attended the local public school system, where he laid the foundation for a life characterized by hard work and dedication. After graduating high school, he embarked on his journey into adulthood, taking on various roles throughout his career. Larry was known for his strong work ethic, working at Facet, Forsyth Barbecue, Revlon, and the ABC store, where he earned a reputation as a true workaholic.
Larry pursued his passion for cars in his off time, cherishing the moments spent tinkering and driving his beloved vehicles. His love for automobiles brought him joy.
Larry married the love of his life, Shirley Manning, with whom he shared a deep and abiding love until death do them part.
Larry was preceded in death by his Shirley Manning, his son Lamarius Lewis, one brother, Omar Manning, and his father, Duroff McDonald Manning. He leaves to cherish his memories one son, Daron Lewis, and one daughter, Kelly Monique Manning; three brothers, Garry Manning (Pamela), Reggie Manning (Annette), and Tyrone Manning (Tonya); two sisters, Niesha Manning Macon (Timothy), and Tysia Elliot, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Larry's legacy is one of hard work, passion, and love. He will be remembered for his dedication to his jobs and the warmth and affection he carried for his family. He leaves behind cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
