A Precious Beginning
We gather with heavy hearts to remember and celebrate the life of Kairo Na’mir Ragland, known to many as “KING,” who gained his heavenly wings and became an angel on January 10, 2026. Although his time with us was brief, his light touched the lives of all who knew him, and his memory will live on in our hearts forever.
Kairo was born on October 3, 2025. From the moment he arrived, he brought joy and love to his family, and his presence and spirit were a precious gift to everyone who had the privilege of meeting him.
A Loved One by Design
He was cherished by his father, Carlton Yvain Ragland, of Battleboro, NC; his mother, Tylina Corey Sparks, also of Battleboro, NC; and he was lovingly cared for by his Great Auntie and Godmother, Andrea Cook-Walcott. Andrea took him into her heart and home, and in the short time they shared, he earned the special nickname “King.” He attended church with his godmother at United Prayer of Faith Holiness Church, where his faith and innocence touched those who saw his bright, trusting gaze.
Family Ties and Remembrances
Kairo is survived by his grandmothers, Angelina German of Raleigh, NC, and Chantel Sparks of Greensboro, NC; his grandfathers, Clifton Hargrove of Raleigh, NC, and Corey Sparks, who preceded him in death; and his great-grandparents, Billy and Ruth Sparks of Brooklyn, NC. He is also survived by his siblings, Shania Ragland of Louisburg, NC; Carlton Yvain Ragland Jr. of Henderson, NC; and Kali Sparks of Henderson, NC, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other cousins, relatives, and friends. Each family member carries their own memory, and together they hold him close in their hearts.
A Life of Light
Though Kairo’s time with us was brief, his life was filled with love, warmth, and the promise of a bright future. He brought joy to those around him and left an imprint on all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His smile and gentle spirit will be remembered as a beacon of hope and a reminder of the precious beauty found in every moment of life.
A Final Benediction
King may have left this world too soon, but his memory will forever reign in the hearts of those who loved him. May he rest in heavenly peace, wrapped in the eternal embrace of angels, and may his family find solace in the outpouring of love that surrounds them.
