With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Joseph Lionell Coleman, affectionately known as “Skeet,” who peacefully departed this life at his home on June 6, 2025. Born November 25, 1986, in Durham County, North Carolina, Skeet was a beloved son, brother, friend, and a soul who loved hard and gave even harder.
Growing up in Vance County, Skeet was a bright and lively child who attended Vance County Public Schools. His joyful spirit and infectious personality made him a friend to all he encountered—Skeet never met a stranger. He was the life of every gathering, loved cooking, partying, and traveling, and was always ready for a good time.
Skeet had a passion for music and often fancied himself a rapper. He dreamed big and shared his talent with those around him. He took pride in his appearance and loved to dress sharply, always representing with style and confidence. His love for women was genuine and heartfelt.
Above all, Skeet’s heart was kind and generous. He was the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation. His love for family and friends was unconditional, and he cherished every moment spent with those he loved.
Skeet’s spirit will be missed dearly, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He loved fiercely, and his presence brought joy and laughter to everyone around him.
Rest in peace, Skeet. Your love, laughter, and spirit will never be forgotten.
Funeral services will be at the CFI Auditorium, the old Henderson Middle School.
