Jeffrey Alonzo Jones Sr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Jeffrey Alonzo Jones Sr., who joined his Heavenly Father while surrounded by his loving family at Maria Parham Health on February 5, 2024. Jeffrey was born to Jerl McDonald Jones and Shirley Mae Branch Jones, and his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Jeffrey spent his formative years attending Northern Vance High School, and as a young child, he found solace and joy in the community of Mount Calvary Holy Church in Townsville, NC. There, he lent his voice to the youth choir, sharing his passion for singing and his unwavering dedication to spreading the message of the Lord. Known for his infectious laughter and love of dancing, Jeffrey had a remarkable ability to bring joy to those around him.

A devoted father, Jeffrey's greatest joy in life was his children: Jeffrey Alonzo Jones Jr, Jasmine Wright, Xiaver Jones, and Joanna Woody. He was a pillar of strength and love in their lives, always placing their well-being above all else. Though he was a well-known figure in the community, Jeffrey was a private individual who preferred to quietly make a difference in the lives of those around him. His kindness and compassion touched many, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Jeffrey Alonzo Jones Sr. will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate to have crossed paths with him. As we mourn the loss of a beloved father, friend, and community member, we take comfort in the cherished memories and the enduring legacy he leaves behind.

May he rest in peace, knowing that his spirit will continue to shine bright in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
