Garland Davis Jr., born on May 10, 1954, in Henderson, North Carolina, peacefully passed away on August 16, 2024, at Maria Parham Health in Henderson. He was the beloved son of Garland Davis Sr. and Lizzie Lawson.
Garland received his education in the Vance County Schools system, which laid the foundation for his future endeavors. After completing his studies, he devoted his career to the masonry field and showcased his skills as an automobile mechanic.
Garland had a passion for music and took great joy in helping others in need. In his leisure time, he could often be found enjoying classic Western television shows, bringing a sense of nostalgia and comfort.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Garland Davis Sr. and Lizzie Lawson; his sister, Hattie Marie Currin; his long-time companion, Sarah Marrow and Rose Durham.
Garland is survived by his siblings: Gladys Davis, Rev. Adrian Davis (Shirley), Marinda D. Daye, Antonio Davis (Natasha), and Lemont Davis; his Godchildren who he cherished and had a unique closeness to him, embodying His love and grace in this every action. A special mention goes to his niece, Miranda Baker, who served as his devoted caretaker, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
Garland Davis Jr. will be remembered for his kindness, humor, and unwavering support for those around him. He leaves behind a legacy of love and community that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
