Donald Clay Daniel

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald Clay Daniel, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left us just shy of his 64th birthday on August 29, 2025, at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC.

Born in Henderson, North Carolina, Donald was the cherished son of the late Sherlock Holmes and Annie Daniel. He attended Vance County Public Schools and grew into a man known for his quiet strength and boundless kindness. A dedicated member of the Antioch United Church of Christ, Donald embodied the spirit of giving, always ensuring others had what they needed, even if it meant going without.

Donald spent many years working at Harriet & Henderson Yarn Company before joining Bullock Cleaning Services. His diligent work ethic and gentle nature touched the lives of all who knew him.

He was a devoted father to his daughters, Marketa Alston, Tonayasi Holden, and Tononica Terry, and a proud grandfather to Traminidy. His love for family extended far and wide, deeply cherishing his time spent with loved ones.

Preceded in death by his parents and daughter Susanna Alston, Donald leaves behind a large, loving family, including brothers William, Melvin, Clifton (Jennie), Ronald (his twin), and Ricky Daniel, as well as sisters Rosia, Alice, Rachel, Brenda, and adopted sisters Linda and Kiesha Daniel. His memory will also be cherished by special nieces Felicia Daniel and Tammy Jordan, many sisters-in-law, and countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to his family, Donald's life was enriched by special friends Angie, Heaven (Laverne), and his best friend, Paul.

Donald Clay Daniel will be remembered for his selfless heart, his quiet resilience, and his unwavering devotion to those he loved. He leaves a legacy of compassion and generosity, having touched the lives of many.
