With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Aaliyah Erica Copeland, who departed this life on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at the age of 25.

Born on March 6, 2001, in Henderson, North Carolina, Aaliyah was a bright light whose presence could never be ignored. She was known for her infectious smile, vibrant personality, quick wit, and ability to make everyone around her laugh. Aaliyah had a gift for connecting with people and brought joy wherever she went. Whether through her growing social media presence, her humor, or her unmistakable honesty, she left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Aaliyah was a recent graduate of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, an accomplishment that reflected her determination, resilience, and commitment to building a bright future. She was proud of her education and excited about the many opportunities that lay ahead.

Those who knew Aaliyah knew she was fun-loving, bubbly, and full of life. She had a sharp sense of humor and wasn’t afraid to speak her mind. Her family often joked that if you needed the truth, Aaliyah would give it to you—whether you were ready for it or not. Beneath her playful spirit was a loving heart that cared deeply for her family and friends.

Aaliyah was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Copeland, and her beloved nephews, Marcus Stuckey, Jr., and Samir Stuckey. Grandmothers Denise Stuckey (mom side) and Teresa Copeland

She leaves to cherish her precious memories her devoted mother, Shirl Stuckey; her brothers, Marcus Stuckey and Elijah Stuckey; her sisters, Tyleiah Edwards and Zahkeyah Copeland; her cherished niece, Malaysia Stuckey; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

Though her time with us was far too short, Aaliyah’s impact was immeasurable. Her laughter, love, strength, and unforgettable personality will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
